Summer Art Camp, Success!
We are thrilled to share that Kick-Start Art successfully hosted its second annual summer art camp! This year, we grew our summer camp program and welcomed 50 students from 7 different migrant schools in Mae Sot, creating a vibrant and diverse community of young artists.
Throughout the two-week camp, participants engaged in various creative activities, including painting and mixed media projects. Our dedicated instructors provided guidance and support, helping each student express their unique artistic voice. The camp not only fostered creativity but also encouraged collaboration and friendship among students from different backgrounds.
We believe that art has the power to bring people together and create lasting memories. Thank you to everyone who made this possible, including our talented staff and enthusiastic students. We can't wait for next year's camp!
Summer Art Classes in the Refugee Camp
To expand the number of lives art touches during the summer months, KSA travels to the Umphiem Refugee Camp to offer art classes to migrant children. Teaching art in refugee camps gives children a safe space to express emotions, process difficult experiences, and find moments of hope and normalcy. Art has the ability to remind children that they are more than the hardships they have experienced. When children are given the chance to create art, they are given the opportunity to imagine a future of possibilities.
